NOAK publishes vehicle prices as a reference base, but final sales are prepared as C&F or CIF quotations depending on the destination port and buyer requirements. Vehicle shipping is handled by RORO when available.
International vehicle quotations may use different trade terms. The final cost depends on the vehicle, destination port, shipping route and insurance requirements.
FOB usually refers to the vehicle price prepared for export from Japan. It does not include ocean freight or destination-side costs.
C&F generally includes the vehicle price plus ocean freight to the destination port. Insurance is not included unless specified.
CIF generally includes the vehicle price, ocean freight and marine insurance to the destination port.
RORO means “Roll On / Roll Off”. Vehicles are driven onto the vessel at the port of loading and driven off at the destination port.
RORO is commonly used for cars, vans, SUVs, trucks and other self-propelled units.
The vehicle is handled as rolling cargo, reducing the need for container loading in many cases.
RORO availability depends on destination country, port, carrier schedule and vehicle type.
RORO ocean freight is often calculated using the vehicle’s cubic meters. This is based on the vehicle dimensions.
When dimensions are provided in meters, the result is the vehicle volume in cubic meters. Freight is then calculated using the applicable rate per M³ for the destination route.
